A dramatic power struggle has unfolded within a tech company following the appointment of a new interim CEO. The founder of OpenWeb, Nadav Shoval, has refused to relinquish his position, sparking a public dispute with the newly appointed leader, Tim Harvey.
In a surprising turn of events, Shoval publicly announced on LinkedIn that he would not be stepping down as CEO. On his LinkedIn, he wrote “I have not stepped down as OpenWeb’s CEO, I recently notified the company that they breached my contract, which was intended to directly call out concerning conduct by the Board of Directors. Instead of addressing the issues, the Board chose to announce a leadership transition at a sudden Company-wide meeting, continuing to act against OpenWeb’s best interests.

The Battle
He further said, “I do not accept these actions. I will continue to fight for OpenWeb’s mission and purpose alongside our team.” This came after the company announced Harvey as the interim CEO. Shoval accused OpenWeb of breaching his contract, claiming that the transition was not being handled appropriately.
Harvey responded to Shoval’s statement, confirming that the company was moving forward with the CEO transition as planned. He wrote “We are progressing with the CEO transition process as planned, as we move forward, we are committed to handling this situation with the utmost respect for all individuals involved and acknowledging their contributions to OpenWeb… Our priority remains the continued success, stability and providing value to our partners”
Despite Shoval’s resistance, OpenWeb has already removed his name from the company website and officially listed Harvey as the interim CEO.
In a previous statement to local media, OpenWeb expressed gratitude to Shoval for his contributions as the founder and former CEO, while also welcoming Harvey to his new role. The ongoing conflict between the two leaders has raised questions about the future direction of the company and the potential impact on its operations.
